Lion Prof. N. Romi Singh received a warm welcome from the Lions fraternity at Imphal International Airport following his election as the Second Vice District Governor for Lions Year 2026–27 during the 47th Mahabahu Annual Conference in Nagaon, Assam. The conference was attended by over 550 delegates from various northeastern states. Singh made history by obtaining 100% of the votes from 120 eligible Lion voters in District 322D, an unprecedented achievement. Alongside him, Lion Dr. Neena Dutta was elected District Governor, and Lion Shankar Routh was elected First Vice District Governor for the same term. Singh, who works at the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, is viewed as a trusted leader within the Lions community. District 322D encompasses over 3,000 members across 80 clubs. Lions Clubs International is a prominent global service organization with over 1.4 million members worldwide. Lions’ members in Manipur celebrated Singh’s election as a historic moment and expressed hopes for enhanced service initiatives and unity under his leadership.
