Thousands participated in the “Save Manipur” rally organized by the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) to affirm their commitment to the state’s territorial integrity. The rally commenced at Tiddim Ground in Kwakeithel and proceeded to Thau Ground in Thangmeiband over a distance of 5 km. Protesters carried signs with messages such as “No compromise to Manipur’s territorial and administrative integrity” and “Resettle the IDPs to their home.” The diverse crowd included non-Manipuris, Meitei Pangals, and members of the Naga community. Participant Bidyaluxmi Oinam emphasized the unwavering stance on maintaining Manipur’s integrity, while Khagembam Surjit denounced the influence of illegal immigrants, asserting the land belonged to their forefathers. Additionally, protesters urged the Government of India to address security issues and restore normalcy while calling for the protection of the state’s unity and sovereignty. In anticipation of the rally, security measures were enhanced throughout the capital.
