The District Administration of Kangpokpi has launched the “Dharti Aaba Abhiyan – Awareness and Benefit Saturation Camps” at Hengbung village. The initiative, part of a nationwide campaign by the Government of India, aims to deliver essential services and entitlements to tribal and underserved areas across the district. The campaign will run till June 30, 2025, covering 59 villages through a cluster-wise approach, focusing on key sectors such as healthcare, education, livelihood support, housing, and social security. The opening ceremony held at KVK Hengbung saw the participation of senior district officials and community leaders. Among the dignitaries present were Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari, ADC/ADM Shokhongam Baite, SDO Tujang Vaichong Hemant Kumar, CEO SHADC James Doujapao Haokip, and SDO Champhai Lamminlal Simte. Their presence underscored the administration’s commitment to taking governance directly to the people.

As part of the campaign’s launch, Ayushman Bharat (PMJAY) health cards, micronutrients, and saplings were distributed to eligible beneficiaries. The DC and his team also reviewed the functioning of 17 departmental stalls/help desks, which were set up to offer on-the-spot services and assistance regarding various government schemes and entitlements. In his address, Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari highlighted the urgent need for proactive outreach in tribal and remote areas. “This campaign represents our unwavering commitment to inclusive development and grassroots empowerment. It is our shared responsibility to bridge existing service delivery gaps and ensure that no eligible beneficiary is left behind,” he said.

He also called upon District Level Officers (DLOs), village authorities, line departments, and civil society organisations to work in close coordination to realise the full potential of the campaign. To maximize community participation, the administration has rolled out an extensive publicity campaign involving local media, banners, posters, and public announcements. A cluster-wise schedule has also been released to inform the public about the dates and venues of upcoming benefit saturation camps.
