A felicitation ceremony took place to honor Babina Thokchom, the newly crowned Miss Grand Manipur 2026, who will represent Manipur at the Miss Grand National Beauty Pageant in April in Jaipur, organized by Star Entertainment Production. Hosted by the Juvenile Association Kakching, the event featured notable attendees, including Kshetrimayum Ibobi and Shougaijam Birlal. Babina shared her experiences and journey, emphasizing her academic achievements, including an MA from Manipur University, while also preparing for the UPSC exams at the Dr. Ambedkar Centre of Excellence. She expressed a strong desire to utilize her platform for social awareness, particularly concerning cyberbullying and mental health, and highlighted her challenging upbringing, where financial obstacles were prevalent. Despite these hurdles, her hard work led to her success in pageantry, and she expressed gratitude to her supporters. Babina is the daughter of Thokchom Noren and Thokchom Ongbi Sumita and has previously held titles such as Miss Dhanamanjuri 2019 and Manfete Queen 1st Runner-Up 2019.
