Governor of Manipur, Ajay Kumar Bhalla, today graced the 10th Armed Forces Veterans’ Day – 2026 held at the Palace Auditorium, MSFDS, Imphal. On the occasion, the Governor felicitated 53 distinguished and Gallantry Award–winning veterans as well as Veer Naris, acknowledging their exemplary service, courage, and lifelong contribution to the nation. In his address, Governor Bhalla highlighted the unwavering dedication of the Armed Forces and emphasized the nation’s enduring gratitude to its veterans, ex-servicemen, and their families. He noted that Veterans’ Day serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made to uphold India’s sovereignty, unity, and democratic values. The Governor also underscored the role of Manipuri’s in India’s military history, praising their exceptional service in safeguarding borders and contributing to national security. He reiterated the government’s commitment to the welfare of serving personnel, ex-servicemen, and Veer Naris, including measures related to healthcare support, pensions, resettlement, and skill development. The event was attended by MLA, Th Biswajit Singh; Chief Secretary, Dr. Puneet Kumar Goel; Security Advisor, Kuldeep Singh, senior civil and police officers, senior officers of the Armed Forces and paramilitary forces, as well as a large gathering of veterans and ex-servicemen.
