On the eve of the New Year, Governor of Manipur Anusuiya Uikey has visited Mahadeva Mandir at the 1st Manipur Rifles, Imphal and offered prayers to the superintend divinity of the temple for a peaceful and prosperous new year to go ahead in Manipur. Governor received a warm welcome from Commanding Officer, Manipur Rifles and the families of police personnel residing there.

She interacted with the families and gave sweets also monetary assistance to the children after the prayer. Later, she visited Langol Old Age Home at Langol in Imphal’s West district. Governor interacted with aged and needy people who are taking shelter in the home and enquired them about their concerns, requirements and grievances.

On hearing the grievances, conditions and requirements of the old age home, Governor announced a Donation of Rupees One lakh from Raj Bhavan and further assured required assistance from the Government through District Administration and concern Departments.

Governor was pleased to know that most of the old age home inmates have voluntarily decided to donate their bodies after death by registering themselves as body donor in the Medical Institutes of the State. She also handed over blankets, rice, and monetary assistance to all the inmates as a New Year’s gift. The inmates expressed their gratitude and wished her a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous life ahead.
