The Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony for the First batch of B.Sc. Nursing students from Universal College of Nursing, Yairipok in Thoubal district was held today at the College Auditorium, marking a significant milestone in the college’s journey. The 35 students of the first batch were started with the nursing profession and a traditional lamp lighting tribute to Florence Nightingale, the Lady with the Lamp and an Oath Taking ceremony.

During her speech, Prof. Th. Nandarani Devi, Principal of Universal College of Nursing stated that with this momentous occasion, the college has established itself as a pioneer in nursing education in Manipur. The college is dedicated to provide high quality nursing education to meritorious students from economically weaker families in Manipur.

She informed the audience that this college has facilitated the shadowing of B.Sc. Nursing course by these students through educational loans from leading banks like State Bank of India that can minimize the financial burden on their parents. She also mentioned that the college will provide placement opportunities to its students in leading Hospitals across Delhi after the completion of 4 year B.Sc. Nursing Course. The college aims to play a leading role in imparting high quality professional healthcare education and training to the meritorious students of Manipur. It is also affiliated with RIMS Hospital in Imphal for clinical exposure and practical training for its students.
