In a bid to enhance the electoral process, District Election Officer (DEO) Mamoni Doley led a meeting with political party representatives at the DC Office’s Video Conference Hall. Key agenda included the Special Summary Revision (SSR) timeline, with January 1, 2026, set as the qualifying date for voters. The DEO emphasized the importance of Inclusive Enrollment, urging parties to ensure all eligible voters, particularly those turning 18 by the qualifying date, are registered. Transparency measures were discussed, including the availability of claims and objections lists on the CEO Manipur website and routine updates from the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) to parties. Political parties were asked to appoint Booth Level Agents (BLAs) promptly to aid in verifying voter information on the ground. Under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative, an aggressive enrollment drive was announced, involving special camps at local colleges targeting young voters and booth-level campaigns to promote the accuracy of the Electoral Roll. Following the meeting, a specialized training session for Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of the 49-Tadubi Assembly Constituency took place, focusing on their responsibilities and data entry procedures to maintain electoral integrity. The training, supervised by Pf. Lophro (ERO), was attended by key officials who offered practical guidance to enhance BLOs’ effectiveness in the field.
