On Wednesday, security forces arrested two extortionists affiliated with KCP (MFL), Thangjam Goutam Singh (19) and Diamond Chingshubam (24), at their homes in Khabi Mamang Leikai, Imphal West district. Seized items included a Royal Enfield Meteor motorcycle, two mobile phones, and an Aadhaar card. That same day, Khulem Kulajit Singh (20), an active member of KCP (Apunba), was arrested at his residence in Khurai Kongpal Chingangbam Leikai, Imphal East district, with one mobile phone and an Aadhaar card. Another arrest involved Chabungbam Taisan Meitei (21), also from KCP (Apunba), who possessed a pistol, a magazine, and a mobile handset. Additionally, Athokpam Derrick Singh (22) was detained for his involvement in a bomb explosion in Imphal West district and had two mobile phones and an Aadhaar card upon arrest. Furthermore, three active cadres of KYKL were captured near Moirangthel village; they include Abujam Naba Meeitei (49), Ningthoujam Kunjabihari Singh (30), and Ningthoujam Manglem Singh (45). In response to security concerns, 114 checkpoints were established across various districts, ensuring the movement of 191 vehicles carrying essential items along NH-37 and enforcing strict measures in sensitive areas for safety and security. Ongoing search operations were also conducted in vulnerable locations across the districts.
