Deputy Chief Minister Nemcha Kipgen, alongside the Kangpokpi District Administration—including Deputy Commissioner Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, and SP Abhinav—joined the state-level program from the Ngahmun pre-fabricated houses. They participated via video conference in an interaction and DBT release ceremony led by Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand at the National Games Village relief camp.
Deputy Commissioner of Kangpokpi, Mahesh Chaudhari, IAS, briefed the Minister on the various schemes and programs initiated by the District Administration for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). He noted that today’s DBT constituted the second installment for those whose houses were burnt and who have already received the initial ₹25,000. Additionally, he highlighted the provision of ₹12,100 for monthly rations per IDP family. The DC further apprised the Minister of various initiatives regarding resettlement, education, and other essential services.
Speaking at the occasion, Dy CM Nemcha Kipgen expressed her deep appreciation for the DC, SP, and SDOs for their unwavering support throughout this period. She encouraged the IDPs to submit their grievances and requirements concerning health services, examination centers, and special PMAY-G increments through their respective SDOs or the DC. The Dy CM assured them that she would personally present these matters to the Union Home Minister during her meeting next week to ensure their needs are heard and expedited.
Furthermore, she urged the IDPs to begin the construction of houses under the Special PMAY-G scheme, promising to do everything in her power along with the Chief Minister to request an increase in the current funding amount from the Home Minister.
Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Ngahmun also voiced their grievances and highlighted urgent requirements concerning examination centers, financial assistance, and other basic needs directly to Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand via video conference. The Chief Minister assured them that all genuine concerns would be looked into and addressed with necessary care and urgency.
