On Saturday, the Mao Council celebrated Dr. Losii Dikho, the newly appointed Deputy Chief Minister of Manipur, during a felicitation ceremony in Tadubi. President N. Athikho Joseph expressed joy over Dr. Dikho’s appointment and praised his dedication to restoring peace in the state amid ongoing tensions. The event was marked as a significant occasion to recognize Dr. Dikho’s contributions to the district and state, with prayers for his wisdom and longevity in service.
Dr. Dikho expressed heartfelt gratitude for the support and generous gifts received from various community groups, including women and students. He acknowledged that his position was made possible through the prayers of the community and emphasized the government’s commitment to fostering peace and inclusive development during the current budget session of the Manipur Legislative Assembly.
The Deputy Chief Minister called for collaboration in upcoming developmental projects and assured his commitment to serving the public welfare. The ceremony also featured the unveiling of a monolith by Rev. A. Pfokrelo of the Mao Baptist Churches Association, and attendees presented him with various tokens of appreciation including certificates, traditional Naga shawls, and local produce. Officials from the Mao Council and representatives from several regions were present to honor the occasion.
