In a notable operation, the Manipur Police apprehended several individuals involved in drug trafficking on Wednesday. The first arrest involved Anil Guatam, aged 34, from Toribari Village in the Kangpokpi district. He was detained at the Phougakchao Ikhai Police NAKA Check Point in Bishnupur district, where authorities recovered 1.5 kg of opium, along with his auto-rickshaw, a carry backpack, a mobile phone, and an Aadhaar card.

Another suspect, Md Altaf Hussain, 21, was arrested near the Kwakta Sericulture Training Institute along NH-02 in Bishnupur district. He was found in possession of approximately 271 grams of Heroin no. 4, a four-wheeler Alto car, and a keypad mobile phone.

Lastly, Laishram Kunjomani Singh, 52, from Iram Siphai Mayai Leikai but currently residing in Sagolband Amudon Akham Leikai, was taken into custody from Bora Gali, Thangal Bazar in Imphal West district. During his arrest, police seized 56,216 capsules of SP tablets and a mobile phone. These actions reflect the ongoing efforts of the Manipur Police to combat illegal drug activities in the region.
