The District Administration of Pherzawl, along with other local entities, celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 at the Deputy Commissioner’s Complex under the theme “Give to Gain.” The event, part of the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao initiative, focused on women’s empowerment through education and social justice. Activities included an extempore speech competition for girl students, with cash prizes and gifts for attendees, emphasizing the vital societal role of women as highlighted by Deputy Commissioner Mannuamching IAS. Historical references to the 1908 New York City women’s march underscored the importance of gender equality. The celebration concluded with a vow to continue promoting women’s rights.

In Senapati District, the event was organized by Mera Yuva Bharat in coordination with local sports offices, featuring Deputy Commissioner Mamoni Doley, IAS, who encouraged young girls to pursue their ambitions. The sports meet was officially opened, followed by the distribution of prizes.

Thoubal district observed the day with various initiatives, including a blood donation camp organized by the Integrated Rural Development Service Organisation in association with the Indian Red Cross Society, where 15 individuals donated blood. Additionally, a Free Mega Health Camp was conducted by local legal services and a health clinic, providing specialist consultations in connection with the day’s theme “Give to Gain.” Overall, the events across these districts reflected a strong commitment to women’s empowerment and health awareness.
