Sandeep Raj, Joint Secretary and Financial Adviser, Department of Atomic Energy, visited schools covered under the PM SHRI (Pradhan Mantri Schools for Rising India) scheme in Kakching district. During the visit, Sandeep Raj conducted inspections at Kakching Higher Secondary School and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Umathel. He was accompanied by Ng. Bhogendra Meitei, MCS, Director of Education (S); Renuka Khumukcham, MCS, Additional State Project Director, Samagra Shiksha (Secondary); P. Shantikumar, MCS, Additional District Magistrate, Kakching; along with officials of the District Administration, Kakching. Later on, Sandeep Raj witnessed cultural performances presented by the students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, Umathel.
Under the PM SHRI scheme, a total of seven State Government schools and one Central Government school have been selected in Kakching district. It may be mentioned that PM SHRI School is a centrally sponsored scheme by the Centre. This initiative is intended to develop more than 14500 PM SHRI Schools managed by Central Government/State/UT Government/local bodies including KVS and NVS in which every student feels welcomed and cared for, where a safe and stimulating learning environment exists. Also, where a wide range of learning experiences are offered, including good physical infrastructure and appropriate resources conducive to learning are available to all students.
