In a strong move to tackle drug abuse, E Coy, 112 Battalion CRPF, organized a one-day Youth Outreach Campaign under the “Nasha Mukt Bharat” initiative at Gelnel Higher Secondary School, IT Road, in Twilang, Kangpokpi district, Manipur. Over 150 villagers from nearby areas took part, reflecting growing community concern. Dr. Umashankar Verma, Chief Medical Officer of 112 Bn. CRPF, addressed the youth, highlighting the alarming rise in substance abuse and its harmful impact on families and society.
He urged the young generation to lead the fight against addiction and illegal poppy cultivation, calling them the strength and future of the nation. A free medical camp was also held during the event, offering essential health services to locals. The campaign reinforced the importance of grassroots awareness and youth leadership in creating a drug-free society, igniting renewed hope in Twilang’s communities.
