Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh inaugurated three significant projects in Moirangpurel: the Itham Moirangpurel Bridge, a Model Residential School, and a Science and Arts Block at Moirangpurel Higher Secondary School. These initiatives, funded under various government schemes, aim to enhance infrastructure and educational facilities in the area. The Itham Moirangpurel Bridge, spanning 2.10 km over the Thoubal River, has a sanctioned cost of approximately Rs. 645.84 lakh and was constructed by NDS Construction. Additionally, the Model Residential School, built under the Pradhan Mantri Jan Vikas Karyakram, cost around Rs. 25.62 crore and aims to serve the educational needs of the community. The Science and Arts Block at Moirangpurel Higher Secondary School was funded by Samagra Shiksha Manipur, costing Rs. 3,78,56,031 and providing essential facilities such as classrooms, laboratories, and restrooms.

During the inauguration ceremony, the Chief Minister addressed issues facing the Moirangpurel Higher Secondary School, notably the shortage of teachers, committing to rectify this problem. Concerns were also raised about alleged unlawful activities linked to security personnel along roads in the area, prompting the Chief Minister to instruct the Superintendent of Police to investigate these claims thoroughly.

Moreover, the Chief Minister requested the Deputy Commissioner of Imphal East to provide a report regarding Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) from Laikhong village, ensuring that benefits for purchasing mattresses through Direct Benefit Transfer would be addressed promptly.

The road upgrade from NH-202 at Lamlai to Thoubal Dam, covering 1:18.50 km, is part of a vital transportation network linking two principal highways (NH-202 and NH-102(A)). The project is supervised by the Public Works Department, with completion anticipated within a year, and aims to improve connectivity and enhance economic activities in the region.

Local MLAs praised the Chief Minister for his commitment to development and emphasized the importance of upgrading regional roads to national highway status to further improve public benefits and opportunities. The event was attended by various officials, including the Commissioner to Chief Minister N. Ashok Kumar, Chief Engineer PWD Chongtham Biswachandra Singh, and members of the community, signifying a collaborative effort towards regional development.
