Chief Minister Shri Yumnam Khemchand Singh today assured National Cadet Corps, (NCC) cadets that the government is committed to creating an environment where the youth can thrive, drawing applause from the audience.
The Chief Minister was speaking during a felicitation Ceremony of NCC Cadets from the State at the NCC Ground, DM College Campus.
In his brief address, the Chief Minister said the seven cadets felicitated today for their achievement have filed the heart of every Manipuri with pride and joy.
The seven are Cadet Senior Under Officer (CSUO) Swaty Laishram, Cadet under officer (CUO) Konsam Moramba Meitei, (CUO) Ningthoujam Pinky Devi, Senior Under Officer (SUO) Leitanthem Chanchan Devi, (SUO) Rojita Waikhom, Cadet Stephen Samu Sampar and Cadet P Silvester.
“We are here to celebrate a moment of immense pride for the entire state of Manipur,” the Chief Minister added.
He also congratulated the NCC Group Headquarters, Imphal for their relentless efforts in shaping the future of the State and added that the cadets are the architects of the new Manipur, a Manipur that is peaceful, progressive, and prosperous.
Upon his arrival at the NCC Group Headquarters, Imphal the Chief Minister inspected a Guard of Honour. Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, accompanied by Wing Commander Mutum Sandip Singh, Commanding Officer of 1 Manipur Air Squadron NCC, participated in a flight simulator session at the unit’s headquarters.
Today’s function was attended by Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA Kh. Joykisan Singh, DM University Vice Chancellor Dr. W. Chandbabu Singh, Brigadier Shri Vikrant Kulkarni, Cadets, Staff, and officers of the NCC. An additional of around 2,000 cadets from districts such as Churachandpur and Ukhrul joined the function through video conferencing.
Later, accompanied by the Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency MLA Kh. Joykisan Singh, the Chief Minister inspected Khunthoknganbi Upper Primary School and Gurukul Hijam Dewan Junior High School in Thangmeiband Assembly Constituency.
Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh also inspected Naorem Birahari College in Khundrakpam, Imphal East, assessing the institution’s current conditions. The Chief Minister also briefly interacted with the teaching and non-teaching staff of the college.
Khemchand also flagged off the Improvement of Imphal – Saikul Road from Hundred Flower School to Sagolmang at Khundrakpam and assured the public to complete the project at the earliest. During the flagged off event, the Chief Minister was accompanied by Chief Engineer, Public Works Department (PWD) Chongtham Biswachandra Singh, officials of the department and contractors.
