Manipur Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met with representatives of Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) committees to discuss the resettlement of individuals affected by recent ethnic conflicts. He emphasized the importance of addressing the needs of those currently in relief camps and assured a careful approach to their safe and dignified return. Deliberations included the situation of IDPs from Moreh, Churachandpur, and Kangpokpi, with a commitment to make their resettlement a priority for long-term stability. Additionally, measures for strengthening the rehabilitation and livelihood support of families already resettled were reviewed to help them rebuild their lives. Singh reinforced the government’s dedication to peace, inclusivity, and a secure future for all residents of Manipur and highlighted recent approvals for 5,000 new houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) for IDP rehabilitation.
