Chief Minister Y Khemchand announced the formation of an administrative committee to investigate suspected fraudulent cases and withdrawals related to the Chief Minister’s Health Scheme (CMHT) and the Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PMJAY), with a report expected in one month. During the closing session of the 7th Legislative Assembly, the Manipur Appropriation (No.2) Bill, 2026, was passed following discussions involving several MLAs who raised inquiries. Khemchand instructed Deputy Commissioners to assist hailstorm-affected individuals using available funds, promising reimbursement from the government. He revealed that over seven lakh individuals have benefited from these health schemes despite operational discrepancies, which are also common in other states. Notably, 110 applications to the Health Department were rejected for lack of authenticity. An upcoming meeting with private hospitals under the scheme is planned to ensure adherence to guidelines. Additionally, the Chief Minister highlighted new funding allocations for water resource programs in Thoubal district, confirming that the budget’s support for women’s self-help groups is not election-related but aimed at aiding economically weaker women. Following all discussions, the appropriation bill was unanimously approved, leading to the adjournment of the session.
