Imphal: General Minister N. Biren Singh yesterday introduced the egazette.mn.gov.in website as part of the “Digitization & e-Archiving of Manipur Gazette, Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Based ID Card issuance System, Swagatam, Inventory Management System, and the induction of E-Vehicle in the General Administrative Department’s fleet of vehicles at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat.”

The Chief Minister also unveiled the Vahan Application for the Transport Department of the Government of Manipur’s 10 Faceless Services.
30,237 Extraordinary Gazettes and 1,079 Ordinary Gazettes covering the 67-year period from 1950 to 2017 have been successfully digitized as part of the “Digitization & e-Archiving of Manipur Gazette” project and are uploaded to the website egazette.mn.gov.in.Gazettes from 2017 through 2021 that are yet unpublished are being posted. The public does not need to visit the Directorate of Printing & Stationer, Manipur library in order to get the digitized Gazettes from the internet. A step toward maintaining historical documents and improving access to important information is being taken with this initiative.

The RFID based ID Card will be issued for Officers/Staff working in the Secretariat. The card is linked to the Centralised Management Information System (CMIS) of Government of Manipur. Linking with CMIS has the added advantage of immediate verification of the authenticity of the ID Card through RFID and will reduce the scope of fake ID Cards.
Swagatam is an innovative initiative launched to simplify the process of scheduling appointments for citizens seeking to meet government officials.

By offering an easy-to-use appointment system, it seeks to close the gap that exists between the public and the government. However, adding electric cars to GAD’s fleet of vehicles is a step toward the country’s premier initiative to support electric transportation.
The Transfer of Ownership in Case of Normal Sale, Transfer of Ownership by Succession, Transfer of Ownership of Vehicle Purchased at Public Auction, Issuance of Duplicate RC, Address Change in RC, and Hypothecation are among the Ten Faceless Services of the Transport Department addition, termination, or continuance; No Objection Certificate; RC details information; application withdrawal; and mobile number updating (based on Aadhar). Through this effort, the public may access the aforementioned services online without having to physically visit the transport office.
Speaking at the event, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh thanked the GAD, Transport Department, and National Informatics Center, Manipur authorities, for their efforts in developing the projects that were introduced today. He went on to say that the goal of digitizing gazettes has always been there.

stating that record tampering would be impossible once ancient records were digitalized. He expressed gratitude to the officials for digitizing gazettes between 1950 and 2017 and emphasized the need of keeping significant documents for next generations.
He said that there would be openness in the purchases of goods needed to keep government offices running smoothly, in reference to the Inventory Management System that was introduced today. He emphasized again the significance of government offices’ accountability and duty.The Chief Minister defended the benefits of introducing e-cars into the GAD fleet, arguing that doing so would lower pollution levels overall and, conversely, lower the amount of money the government spends on fuel and diesel for official vehicles.

Chief Secretary Dr. Vineet Joshi, Additional Chief Secretary M. H. Khan, Chief Electoral Officer, Manipur P.K. Jha, Secretary to Chief Minister N. Geoffrey, Special Secretary to Chief Minister Neilenthang Telien, and General Administrative Department staff received RFID-based ID cards from the Chief Minister during the program.
Ministers, MLAs, the Chief Secretary, the Government of Manipur’s Security Advisor, Administrative Secretaries, and representatives from several departments were among those present at the inaugural event.
