Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh met Union Road Transport and Highways Minister Nitin Gadkari in New Delhi, marking their first meeting since Khemchand assumed office on February 4. Accompanying him were Deputy Chief Ministers Nemcha Kipgen of the BJP and Losii Dikho of the Naga People’s Front (NPF). Khemchand provided an update on various road projects within the state and sought Gadkari’s assistance in prioritizing the state’s proposal for an elevated highway as well as the strengthening of national highways. Gadkari responded positively, promising all feasible support from his ministry and indicating that the state’s proposals would be favorably considered.
