Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the District Sports Association Chandel and Wisecabs, successfully hosted the 5th edition of the “Run Chandel Run” marathon as part of Operation Sadbhavana. Approximately 1,500 participants celebrated fitness, sportsmanship, and community unity under the theme “Run Strong, Run Proud, Run Chandel Run.” The event included races across various categories: Below 16 Years (5 km), Open Category (5 km and 10 km), and Above 45 Years (5 km). The 10 km race began from Heibunglok Village, while the 5 km events started at Thoruwl Turf, all concluding at the District Sports Complex, Chandel Christian Village. Senior Officials of Assam Rifles flagged off the marathon at Pallel Garrison. To promote participation, the first 500 registered runners received event T-shirts, and all finishers received medals and certificates. Winners of each category were awarded cash prizes, with the champion of the 10 km Open Category receiving ₹10,000. Comprehensive medical, administrative, and technical support ensured the event’s smooth and safe execution.
