The highly anticipated 9th edition of the Brahmaputra Valley Film Festival (BVFF) is set to take place from December 5th to 8th, 2024, at Jyoti Chitraban Film Studio in Kahilipara, Guwahati. This year, the festival will feature an impressive selection of over 220 films, highlighting powerful narratives from the Northeast and beyond, aiming to attract both cinephiles and industry professionals.

With categories spanning feature films, documentaries, and shorts, the BVFF is a platform for emerging filmmakers and a celebration of regional cinema. Over its history, the festival has showcased more than 280 films and received over 1,200 entries, fostering talent development through training programs for young filmmakers. Last year’s event drew over 25,000 attendees, marking its growing significance in the cultural landscape.

In Imphal, the festival is expected to generate significant economic activity, drawing visitors and enhancing trade for local businesses, particularly in hospitality and retail sectors.
