The birth centenary celebration of Laishram Samarendra took place at the Library and Information Centre in Kakching, organized by the Laishram Samarendra Birth Centenary Celebration Committee in collaboration with Sahitya Seva Samiti Kakching, Macha Chanu Kakching, and Eramdam Khorjei Apunba Lup. Notable attendees included Mayanglambam Kunjakesho, Vice President of Sahitya Seva Samiti Kakching; Dr. Nongmaithem Pramodini, President of Macha Chanu Kakching; and Yengkhom Anilkumar, Chairman of the Celebration Committee. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Saratchand Thiyam. Floral tributes were paid to Laishram Samarendra, followed by a speech by Dr. Ningombam Nando that focused on Samarendra’s literary achievements and societal contributions. The celebration featured poetry recitations by poets and students in honor of Samarendra and concluded with the presentation of mementos to participants to acknowledge their contributions.
