The District Administration of Churachandpur has launched the BBBP Mentorship Connect, an online mentorship platform under the Beti Bachao Beti Padhao (BBBP) initiative, at Churachandpur College (Autonomous) during the International Women’s Week celebrations from March 8 to 14. Organized by the Women Empowerment Committee of the college in collaboration with the District Administration, the initiative was developed under the direction of Deputy Commissioner Shri Dharun Kumar S and operationalized by Teresa Tangpua, Jr. MCS/Branch Officer at the BBBP office.
The platform aims to create a safe, empowering digital space exclusively for women, connecting female leaders and professionals from various fields with students and young women seeking mentorship. Deputy Commissioner Dharun Kumar S emphasized the platform’s role in facilitating career counseling, guidance, and personal development tailored to the specific interests and expertise of the mentors and mentees.
A key feature of the platform is the “Safe Channel,” which enables girl students to report harassment confidentially, voice their grievances, and request support. This mechanism guarantees that concerns are addressed securely by the relevant authorities, enhancing the district’s support infrastructure for young women.
Developed in collaboration with local IT start-up BuildnBIT Private Limited, led by John Pautanlian Guite, the initiative reflects Churachandpur’s commitment to nurturing local innovation and technical talent. The platform encourages women mentors globally to register, providing Churachandpur’s students with access to a wealth of professional experiences and worldwide perspectives. The District Administration calls upon educational institutions, women professionals, and students to engage actively in this initiative aimed at advancing the empowerment of girls and promoting gender equality.
