Legal awareness and drug-free initiatives were launched as part of the Yaoshang festival in the Bishnupur district. These programs were organized by the District Legal Services Authority Bishnupur in collaboration with Legal Aid Clinics in Toubul and Thanga Karang. Efforts were made to educate the community at various locations, including community halls and Relief Camps, where Yaoshang sports celebrations occurred. The initiatives were supported by local clubs and conducted under the supervision of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA) and the Manipur State Legal Services Authority (MASLSA). Panel lawyers and Para Legal Volunteers addressed critical issues such as the Prohibition of Child Marriage Act, crimes against women, POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences), Women Victim Compensation, and drug abuse prevention. Specific awareness events were held at several sites, including the ECHO Club of Bishnupur Ward No. 8 and various relief camps including Moirang Khunou Mayai Leikai Relief Camp, Takmu Watersports Complex Relief Camp, and Yenning Foundation Rehabilitation Centre. Furthermore, the programs featured sports activities such as a “Run for Drug-Free Yaoshang” and “Yaoshang for Drug-Free” events, which included races, public gatherings, and football and volleyball matches, promoting both legal awareness and a drug-free message among participants.
