Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Manipur Police, and the Forest Department, initiated a targeted anti-narcotics operation based on specific intelligence regarding illegal narcotics cultivation in the Sadim Hill Range of Senapati district. The operation focused on area domination and systematically searching suspected cultivation sites. During their efforts, the joint team uncovered illicit poppy cultivation spanning 8 acres, which was promptly destroyed. This eradication was significant, as it had the potential to yield approximately 58 kilograms of opium, estimated to be worth multiple crores, thus delivering a considerable setback to the drug trafficking networks in the region.

In addition to the destruction of the poppy plants, the operation also led to the burning of two makeshift huts and the confiscation of various agricultural tools found nearby, including pipes for irrigation, a spray pump, and a water container. The Assam Rifles reiterated its unwavering commitment to combat narcotics and protect the youth and society from the detrimental effects of drug abuse.
