Security forces, alongside the Forest Department, destroyed 20 acres of poppy cultivation at Thinghangjang Hill in Churachandpur district, Manipur, while also burning two associated huts. In a separate operation between Maukot Village and Singngat in the same district, a joint team from security forces and the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) arrested two drug smugglers named Hangkhankap and Khupjamlal. The duo was found in possession of 4.3 kgs of heroin powder, which was packed in 320 soap cases, as well as two vehicles: a Bolero (registration MN01S-1618) and a Bajaj Avenger (registration DL10-SH-3331). The DRI has initiated further investigations into this case. Additionally, security forces apprehended Krishna Mohon Namasudra, 55, from Latingkhal Part-II in Jiribam district, seizing 20 litres of DIC liquor and 44 bottles of various IMFL brands, each containing 180 ml, from his residence.
