Tengnoupal Forest Division, in collaboration with Central Forest Division and Thoubal District Police, conducted a joint operation targeting illegal stone quarrying at Wabachong and Tolen hill ranges. During this operation, a Tata vehicle was seized, and a Preliminary Offence Report (POR) will be filed. The operation emphasizes the strict regulations on illegal stone quarrying under the Indian Forest Act (IFA) 1927 and the Forest Conservation Act, 1980. Deputy Conservator of Forests, Mahamuda Begum, highlighted the ongoing threat to forests from organized mineral theft and stated that the operation reflects the state’s commitment to protecting natural heritage. The support from Thoubal District Police, led by Superintendent Manoj Prabhakar M, IPS, and Central Forest Division, was acknowledged as crucial for the operation’s success.
