Assam Rifles organized a series of security meets with Civil Society Organization’s (CSOs) of the Maring Naga community at Shaibol, RRC and COB Machi in Tengnoupal District. The interactions, attended by Village Chiefs, CSO representatives and senior officials along with over 250 troops, were convened in light of prevailing security dynamics to strengthen coordination and reinforce civil–military cooperation. The forums provided a structured platform for constructive dialogue on local security, public safety and developmental priorities within the Area of Responsibility. Deliberations centered on preparedness during contingencies, enhancing grassroots coordination and preventing the spread of misinformation. The importance of collective vigilance and responsible community participation in maintaining law and order was underscored, said a press release of IGAR(S).

Community representatives highlighted priority requirements including improved road connectivity, strengthening of healthcare infrastructure and augmentation of essential facilities. Challenges arising from refugee influx in certain pockets were also reviewed, with emphasis on preserving communal harmony and social stability. The interactive sessions facilitated an open exchange of views and reinforced a spirit of partnership and shared responsibility. Participants unanimously recognized that sustained peace, mutual trust and cooperative engagement between security forces and civil society remain vital for long-term stability and prosperity in Tengnoupal District. The meetings concluded on a constructive note, reflecting collective resolve towards safeguarding peace and fostering inclusive development in the region, it added.
