Assam Rifles has distributed five computers to Hope Baptist Academy in Bible Hill, Rengkai, as part of Operation Sadbhavana, an initiative designed to enhance digital education in remote regions where educational facilities are often hampered by insufficient infrastructure and access to modern educational tools. Schools in hill districts encounter significant challenges, including inadequate connectivity, scarcity of resources, and limited exposure to technology, which impede students’ ability to develop crucial digital competencies necessary for success in an increasingly competitive landscape. The provision of computers by Assam Rifles addresses this disparity through its primary civic action program, allowing students to engage with interactive learning platforms, enhancing classroom involvement, and fostering computer literacy essential for both higher education and future job prospects, as reported by IGAR(S). The distribution event witnessed enthusiastic participation from around 300 students and 20 staff members, who recognized this initiative as a significant advancement toward improving educational standards. For many students, access to computers represents a critical opportunity to delve into studies beyond traditional textbooks and connect with broader global knowledge and resources.
