Amazon India has expanded its operational horizons to reach the remote Maharishi Ashram in Galoji Village, situated at an impressive altitude of 4,500 feet in the Indian Himalayas. Catering to the unique needs of the ashram’s residents, Amazon’s delivery network has defied geographical barriers, reaffirming the company’s commitment to excellence.

Since its inception in March 2019, Amazon’s Delivery Service Partner station has been instrumental in serving the population in and around Uttarkashi. Recognizing the isolated nature of Maharishi Ashram, Amazon identified an opportunity to bridge the gap by extending its services to this remote enclave.

Despite the logistical challenges posed by the region’s rugged terrain, Amazon’s delivery associates undertake a rigorous journey, including a 25-kilometer bike ride and a challenging 3-kilometer trek to ensure prompt deliveries to the ashram’s doorstep. This feat not only showcases Amazon’s operational prowess but also its unwavering dedication to customer satisfaction. Dr. Karuna Shankar Pande, Director of Amazon Logistics, commended the resilience and dedication of Amazon’s delivery team, emphasizing the company’s relentless pursuit of customer obsession. The partnership with local Delivery Service Partner Rahul Kesar reflects Amazon’s commitment to fostering entrepreneurship and supporting small and mid-sized businesses across India.
