Meitei Eikhoi Punsinsi (MEIPUN), a social organization focused on aiding vulnerable individuals, provided financial help to a family in Salungpham Maning Leikai, Thoubal district. The assistance was directed towards 75-year-old Naorem Ongbi Madhabi and her son Naorem Inaocha, who is incapacitated due to a severe health condition resulting from a past accident where he fell from a tree. The family received an immediate financial aid of Rs.10,000 to alleviate their hardships.
Naorem Inaocha’s accident occurred several years ago, rendering him unable to work, which has compounded the family’s financial struggles. The lack of resources has prevented him from receiving essential medical treatment and has hindered his young daughter from continuing her education. With Madhabi, the primary caregiver, in poor health herself, the family faces dire living conditions without a steady income or external assistance.
A local youth, Khundrakpam Thoungamba from Heirok, has been providing support to the family out of compassion. The MEIPUN team, led by senior members Rajendro Pangambam and Keke Wahengbam, along with other supportive members, visited the family to deliver aid. During their visit, MEIPUN members urged the community to help families in distress, highlighting the necessity of collective responsibility and humanitarian aid in society to support those facing similar challenges.
