The All Manipur Powerlifting Association organized a Felicitation Ceremony today at the Keishamthong Elangbam Leikai Community Hall at Manipur to honor the Winners, Medalists, Participants and Officials who took part and participated in the 2023 International and National Championships.
Takhellambam Phulem Meitei, the Director of Youth Affairs and Sports for Government of Manipur, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Laishram Deben, the President of the Association, was also in attendance. Elangbam Johnson, a well-known social worker, Ng Thouba Singh, President of AMPLA, and Khumukcham Rinku, an Editor of a news channel were the Guests of Honour at the programme.
The Government of Manipur is actively introducing more provisions and schemes to support the cause. Laishram Deben, Director of JNIMS spoke about the importance of sports in leading a healthy and prolonged life. He also highlighted how sports contribute to instilling discipline in young people and how the Achievements of our youth in sports bring development to society.
