A significant security operation across Manipur has resulted in the detention of 79 individuals for various violations. The crackdown comes as part of a comprehensive strategy to enforce law and order, with 124 Nakas (checkpoints) set up across both the hill and valley districts. The extensive security measures included rigorous search operations and area domination exercises by security forces in fringe and vulnerable areas. These operations aim to suppress unlawful activities and ensure the safety of residents.

During these searches, a notable cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the Sabungkhok Khunao-Twichin ridge in Imphal East District. The seized items included three improvised long-range mortars (pompi), one .303 rifle, two 12-bore guns, 25 live rounds of ammunition, one Chinese radio set, and two No. 36 hand grenades without detonators.

In addition to these measures, ensuring the movement of essential goods has been a priority. Security forces facilitated the safe passage of 100 and 208 vehicles carrying essential items along National Highways NH-37 and NH-2, respectively. Strict security protocols and convoy escorts were implemented along sensitive stretches to ensure the free and safe transit of these vehicles.
