The 5th Edition of the (Late) Lt Col Robert TA Memorial Open Football Tournament, organized by the Assam Rifles in collaboration with the Senapati District Olympic Association, concluded on February 22, 2026, after 18 days of competition starting from February 5. The closing ceremony was attended by Brigadier Anshuman Tripathi and Chingpai Rangnamai, the wife of Late Lt Col Robert TA, honoring his legacy as the first Army officer from the Maram Naga community. The tournament serves as a tribute to Lt Col Robert TA, who made the ultimate sacrifice on May 14, 2020.

This year featured 19 teams, including players from various districts of Manipur, Nagaland, and an international participant from Ghana. The tournament consisted of 36 league matches followed by quarterfinals and semifinals, culminating in a final where Hills Academy FC triumphed over Pou Legend FC in a dramatic tie-breaker after a 2–2 draw, claiming the Champion’s Trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 3.5 lakh. Pou Legend FC received Rs. 1.5 lakh and a trophy as the runner-up.

Individual awards included cash prizes and bicycles for the Best Goalkeeper, Best Player, and Golden Boot, each worth Rs. 10,000. Md. Nadiya from Pou Legend FC won the Golden Glove for his defensive performance, while George from Hills Academy FC secured the Golden Boot by scoring 13 goals. The Golden Ball was awarded to P. M. Rakeveiche, also from Pou Legend FC, for his seven goals. Overall, the tournament highlighted community unity and honored the enduring passion for football of Lt Col Robert TA.
