Security forces in Manipur conducted multiple operations on Saturday, resulting in several arrests linked to insurgent activities. Khangembam Khumanthem Auna Devi, a 43-year-old female cadre of the People’s Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak/People’s Liberation Army (RPF/PLA), was apprehended for allegedly recruiting members for the banned outfit. The arrest took place in the Sawombung Forest Gate area of Imphal East district, where officers seized a mobile phone from her. Additionally, Thiyam Athoi Meitei, a 24-year-old associated with PREPAK (Pro), was arrested at the Wangkhei Andro Parking area in the same district. In a separate incident, three suspects—Md. Abdul Gafar, Md. Boicha, and Kh. Akip—were detained in the Lilong Bazar area along National Highway 102 in Thoubal district. During their capture, security personnel found illegal items, including a 9 mm pistol, live ammunition, around 494 grams of heroin, four mobile devices, and a Hyundai Creta vehicle. Authorities suspect these individuals are involved in illegal arms and drug trafficking, and investigations are ongoing to determine the full scope of their operations and connections to organized networks.
