As part of a large-scale drug sweep in Kangpokpi district, Manipur, security forces arrested four individuals on July 24. The arrests were made in T. Khullen village, which is under the jurisdiction of Kangpokpi Police Station, after a targeted operation against drug trafficking. The defendants are S. Poubinah Teinamei, PF Adaphro, S. Boibina, and Lungdinibou Thiumei from Khundong Khunkhaiba in Tamenglong district. They all live in T. Khullen.

Authorities discovered 273 soap cases carrying heroin, totaling around 3.5 kilogram. Seven cell phones, two vehicles, and unaccounted cash totaling Rs 99,09,850 were also seized during the operation. Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing to determine the source and ultimate destination of the contraband. For the local drug trafficking networks, this development represents a major setback.
