A total of 170 students, including many girls, received vital healthcare services during a medical camp organised by the Assam Rifles at Eklavya Model Residential School in Tamenglong, Manipur. The initiative aimed to promote student health and spread awareness on preventive healthcare practices.
A team of Assam Rifles Medical Officers conducted general screenings, diagnosing and treating common ailments on-site, while also offering follow-up care advice. A special awareness session on menstrual hygiene and sanitation was conducted for girl students, aiming to break taboos and encourage healthy, safe practices. The interactive talk promoted personal hygiene and the importance of timely medical attention.
The school and local community appreciated Assam Rifles’ efforts, recognising the organisation’s commitment to regional welfare under its motto “Sentinels of the Northeast.”
On the same day, Assam Rifles also held a medical camp and CPR awareness session at Old Thewati village in Nagaland’s Meluri District, assisting 90 villagers with consultations, medication, and emergency response training.
Separately, Manipur Police arrested PREPAK cadre Leichombam Ajitkumar Singh, seizing a car, phone, and SIM used in extortion activities.
